Writing Effective Cover Letters

Writing effective cover letters for your job applications involves understanding what the employer wants.

Before you start writing the letter of application, you must therfore read the job advertisement thoroghly to make sure that you understand what the employer wants. Employers may specify qualifications, work or other relevant experience, personal qualities and professional attributes.

It is good practice to make of list of these characteristics so that you can refer to them in your cover letter and resume.

Exercise:

Read the job advertisement below and identify the qualifications and characteristics the employer is looking for. Then make of list of these chracteristics.
