The Essentials of Blogs and Article Writing

By: Mary Ann Carolyn Dalangin-Tordecilla

Over the past years, we have witnessed the rise of blogs and created what was popularly known as the Blogosphere culture, or better yet, the Blogosphere phenomenon. It is indeed a phenomenon because blogs had captured many industries’ attention, notably the business industry.

Probably, among many others, what’s keeping blogs’ fame and popularity on the web is the fact that it informs. Blogs are the virtual proof that writing offers POWER and IMPACT, not only to online readers, but as well as to search engines. Yes, blogs had changed the way search engines rank websites. Thus, we could very well call the rise of blogs as something as we call a web phenomenon.

So, what exactly are the benefits of blogs and web writing to a company? Below is a rundown of the essentials of blogs and article writing based from the interesting “fame” experience narrated by Rob Sullivan:

  • Article writing does SEO for you. Because of keyword repetition, articles (accidentally) became the top referrer of keywords to search engines, which brings great results to enhancing the site’s ranking.
  • Articles are a great way to PR your site. This includes the following:
  • Brand-building
  • Build credibility

Articles could also do (by its own) a viral marketing strategy for the site. This is connected to the previous benefit of doing PR for the site. Because of brand building and giving credibility to the company, article writing could also do viral marketing naturally. By this, it means that good content is mentioned through several offline and online publication. And thus, marketing is made effective and easy because “others” do it for you.

A good content is what could keep your site alive. Not only does it showcase your services and products online, but it could also extend your “efforts” offline.
